The season premiere of Gossip Girl is still three weeks away but fans are already buzzing about the sixth episode of the hit CW series.
(Spoiler alert, spoiler alert!)
Ed Westwick’s character, Chuck Bass, will be locking lips with a guy.
Before you get your hopes up, Bass is not making out with Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford), despite rumors that the two shared a kiss on set.
The guy Bass will be smooching with is actor Neal Bledsoe, who will be playing the character Josh Ellis. Ellis is the head of freshman affairs at NYU.
Ellis is in charge of selecting an incoming freshman to deliver a speech and Blair (Leighton Meester) is willing to do anything for the opportunity.
Meester’s character decides to use her boyfriend, Chuck, in order to swoon the gay administrator for the honor of speaking to the freshmen class.
Bass kissing a guy shouldn’t come as a surprise for fans of the Gossip Girl novels. In the books, Bass’ character is bisexual.
After two seasons of Chuck being the ultimate womanizer, we might finally see his character resemble what author Cecily von Ziegesar had in mind.
Two women sharing a kiss on screen is not out of the ordinary but two guys on network television is not so common.
Just when you thought the racy drama couldn’t get any juicer, it looks like it will.
Could this on screen romance help develop more openly gay characters on network television? If the ratings are through the roof for this episode, it might be the start of a new trend.
