Edie Falco

In 2000, Falco joined the elite rank of television actresses to win an Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG Award all in the same year for her role on HBO’s The Sopranos. In 2003, while filming for the show, Falco learned she had breast cancer. She kept her diagnosis a secret from most of the cast and crew, even as she struggled through chemo. Since her recovery, Falco, 47, has spoken about starting a family. “When I realized cancer wasn’t going to kill me,” she told Health magazine, “the answer was clear. For years I’d been waiting to start a family, but surviving cancer has a way of making you reprioritize.” Falco adopted son Anderson in 2004 and a daughter, Macy, in 2008. This summer, she capped her first season as the star of the Showtime series Nurse Jackie with an Emmy win for best lead actress in a comedy.
