Oh. My. Gawd. Look at her butt!
This 20-second viral video (NSFW and/or totally worth sharing with your cubemate) shows a big-bottomed gal flipping her newly inserted butt implant, while saying: “I don't think it's meant to do that.” Eh, no.
After receiving butt enhancement surgery, the unidentified woman experienced the odd (but apparently common!) side effect -- the interior flat side of the implant flipped and was facing outward, giving her a pancake booty instead of the firm, plump tushie of her dreams.
“The problem occurs when the implant is not secured firmly enough in a 'pocket' the surgeon creates either between the buttock and the pelvic bone or on top of the gluteus maximus,” plastic surgeon Adrian Richards told The Daily Mail.
These types of implants, which are soft and made of solid silicone, are more likely to shift or move because your butt’s a mighty muscle, always working, flexing and jiggling. Patients can also choose to have fat deposits from other parts of their bodies injected into their backsides as an alternative to implants -- and probably now the preferred method thanks to this video.
The adverse reactions of a booty-enhancing surgery (including death) haven’t deterred folks (men, too) from wanting to add a little more junk in their trunks though. The number of buttock implant surgeries rose 43 percent in 2011 from 2010, the American Society of Plastic Surgery reports, with a slight majority occurring in the Southeast. We’re looking at you, Florida.
