Die-hard Hunger Games fans have been desperately counting down the days until March 23, when they can finally watch the action and suspense of the best-selling book unfold on the big screen. But while most of the film's excitement centers around the battling tributes, Elizabeth Banks says she was just fine leaving the onscreen fighting to her costars.
"I am happily uninvolved in the running and the fighting," the actress, who plays fashion-forward publicist Effie Trinket, tells iVillage. "My biggest stunt is that I walk through the entire movie in like nine-inch stilettos."
The 38-year-old new mom -- and iVillage blogger! -- may be pleased that she wasn't cast in a more physical role. But she thinks the actress who was cast as brave heroine Katniss Everdeen couldn't be more perfect.
"Jennifer Lawrence is such a strong person, she's a tomboy," Banks says. "She's okay with hunting, she eats meat. She's not some precious, vegan L.A. actress. She's a real person, and I'm really excited for people to see her as Katniss."
Watch our exclusive video interview to find out why says she "always wanted to play Effie Trinket" and why she loved helping to create her character's flamboyant look.
