Screen legend Elizabeth Taylor has been hospitalized due to congestive heart failure. The 78-year-old actress is seeking treatment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
"They are still monitoring her," Taylor representative Jamie Caldwell said in an e-mail to CNN Sunday night. "She is stable, and we expect her to recover." Caldwell described the medical issue as an "ongoing condition."
Taylor's publicist Sally Morrison concurred, "I can assure you she is fine and even better, comfortable."
In 2009, Taylor underwent surgery to repair a leaky heart valve.
Prior to her hospitalization earlier this week, the iconic actress was scheduled to receive an amfAR award on Wednesday for her dedication to AIDS research. Unable to attend, Elton John accepted the honor on Taylor's behalf.
