It has been revealed that Elton John is the biological father of his brand new baby boy, who was delivered by a surrogate mother in December. John has been named as the father on Zachary's birth certificate, ending speculation as to whether the piano man or his husband, David Furnish, passed on their, um, skills to the little one.
"Elton really wanted the child to have his genes," a friend of the singer told PopEater.com. "He has a god-given talent and wanted to pass that on to a child. And after years of discussion and thought, Elton and David decided together that Elton's sperm would be used."
Sources say that the couple carefully selected the surrogate mother and egg donor, and John and Furnish insisted she sign over legal documents to make sure her identify will never be revealed.
"As the little boy grows it will become obvious that Elton is the biological dad," the insider said.
Word is that little Zachary is already living in the lap of luxury with his two dads. "Elton has already purchased a $2 million adjoining apartment in Los Angeles to turn into the perfect nursery," the source said. "Elton's son already has four round-the-clock nannies and his own chef. This little boy is going to want for nothing except a mom."
