Flu season has hit the entertainment world hard, and Elton John is the latest to fall victim to the illness.
The Rocket Man was forced to cancel concerts in the UK and to postpone three shows on his Face2Face tour with pal Billy Joel in Seattle and Portland, after doctors advised him it was in his best interest. According to the superstar's Web site, Elton had to take a break "due to a serious case of e-coli bacterial infection and influenza."
According to BBC reports, Elton's spokesman said the 62-year-old "has flu and is absolutely fine." Concert promoters hope to reschedule the U.S. shows for sometime in December.
