Openly-gay pop icon Sir Elton John is probably the last person we would expect to see at Rush Limbaugh's wedding, but the Rocket Man sung his heart out for the ultra-conservative radio personality as he wed his fourth wife on Saturday night. John, 63, performed for the over 400 guests at a posh ballroom in Palm Beach, Fla., as Limbaugh, 59, said "I do" to Kathryn Rogers, 33.
Not that the music man played the gig out of the goodness of his heart; the Grammy winner and AIDS activist was reportedly paid $1 million for his performance. Serenading a crowd that consisted of the likes of Bush adviser Karl Rove, actor-politician Fred Thompson, Fox News commentator Sean Hannity, and former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, just to name a few, the singer put on a show that went late into the night, the Palm Beach Post reports.
The newlyweds met six years ago at a charity golf tournament. As for their 26-year age difference, Limbaugh has said, "I'm sometimes not able to relate to the average person my age."
