The second time could be the charm for Emily Maynard. Multiple sources confirm to People that the season 15 winner of The Bachelor will go looking for love (on reality TV) again as the next star of ABC's The Bachelorette!
Maynard, 25, was the recipient of the final rose during the Brad Womack season of The Bachelor, but the couple ended their tumultuous engagement last summer.
But even though Maynard is still on the lookout for love, sources say she had reservations about signing on for The Bachelorette because she didn't want to be way from her young daughter Ricki. But if People's insiders have the right of it, ABC wanted Maynard back so badly that they agreed to move production of the show to her Charlotte, N.C., hometown.
ABC hasn't yet commented on the casting news, but one previous cast member might be interested in competing once again. Show sources say that Bentley Williams -- who famously spurned previous Bachelorette Ashley Hebert by wooing her while confessing to the cameras that he'd hoped Maynard would be the one doling out roses -- is interested in vying for Maynard's affections this time around.
"I thought I signed up to be with Emily," he said at the time, "and then Ashley's here. Really, who gives a f***?"
The comment brought Hebert to tears, and Williams didn't do too much to make amends.
"With 25 guys, I promise you, at least 24 of them were really excited it was you," he later told her, before leaving her behind. But Williams knew from the start that he was the one exception.
"Ashley's a sweet girl, but there's no question that Ashley doesn't have the checklist that I'm looking for in a future wife," he said early in the season. "I can tell you right now it's not gonna work. I, to be honest with you, could almost care less. Things could've turned out differently if the Bachelorette was Emily."
Now that Maynard's the Bachelorette, could she and Williams find their fairy-tale ending together? Something tells us that Emily might not be quite so mad for Bentley as he is for her -- but, hey, you never know.
