You've got to hand it to bubbly blond Emily Maynard -- she's determined to find true love. First, the southern belle won The Bachelor's season 15 by snagging Brad Womack. After breaking off the engagement with him in June, she's now heading back to ABC to be the newest Bachelorette!
Despite her public break-up with Womack -- "Just because we love each other doesn't mean we're right for each other," she said when she announced the split -- the 25-year-old beauty is not giving up and we don't want her to! Her engagement to Brad was actually her second. She was first engaged to NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick, who died in a plane crash days before she found out she was pregnant with their daughter Ricki, now 6.
Franchise fans will definitely be pulling for a true fairy-tale ending and hoping that the third time is a charm for this incredibly telegenic single mom. But let's be honest, these TV matches rarely translate into long-term, off-camera relationships, which is why it sounds like producers will try anything to make this work for Maynard. Reportedly, they will be bringing the show to her, leaving behind the flashy L.A. manor to film season 8 in Charlotte, N.C., where Emily lives with her little girl.
According to E! Online, Maynard has been heavily courted by producers for months, but has been trepidatious about signing on the dotted line. E! doesn't elaborate, but it's not hard to imagine why she'd feel a little leery about it. Maynard is the first single mother to take on this position, and her daughter is old enough to understand what's going on. When announcing her split from Womack, she said that she hoped to put an end to "all the media speculation" so that she and Ricki "can move on and get back to normal." Now she's stepping back into the fray.
And yet...who knows? Maybe this time she will find lasting love. We're sure she'll have many suitors -- in fact, a handful of guys from Ashley Hebert's season openly admitted to being disappointed that Maynard wasn't the Bachelorette they were vying for.
Fortuantely for Hebert, there was one guy who had his eye on her all season -- her fiance JP Rosenbaum. The two of them have managed to stay out of the tabloids and actually seem like they're going to make it down the aisle. If so, they will be the second Bachelorette couple to wed -- Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter were the first. Here's to hoping that Maynard, too, can defy the odds!
