Has Emma Watson fallen for an American boy? The 21-year-old Harry Potter starlet has been telling the press that she's single, but she seems to be getting awfully close to Alabama-born actor Johnny Simmons, her costar in the upcoming indie film The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Paparazzi recently caught the actors sharing a kiss in Los Angeles -- and Watson is glowing like somebody just said "Lumos!"
"They were all over each other, kissing and hugging," an eyewitness told The Daily Mail. "It was very sweet to see. She looked utterly besotted."
In contrast to Watson's prim British upbringing, Simmons, 24, grew up in Texas -- where he was arrested for speeding and alcohol possession at age 19. Though his name isn't well-known, Simmons has an impressive resume, having appeared in films like Evan Almighty, Jennifer's Body and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. "Emma loves how down-to-earth and normal Johnny is," a friend tells the Daily Mail. "He's very charming and sweet."
Watson's reps have denied that she's dating Simmons, but the actress is happy to describe her ideal man. In a new interview with Company magazine, Watson says that she looks for "kindness, good manners, intelligence, confidence and someone who can make me laugh."
"On a superficial level, I don't have a 'type'," she swears. "You could line up photographs of all the guys I've dated and they look totally different. You won't believe me but it really is more to do with their personalities rather than looks."
It's also clear that she's been thinking ahead to the future. "I have very strong family values and I definitely hope that will be in my future," Watson reveals. "I can't wait to be a mum and have my own family one day."
We think she can probably wait a little longer -- after all, in addition to making movies and designing clothing, she has two more years of college to get through!
