A Heroine's Welcome

Armed with style, wit and confidence, Jane Lynch broke out into song and dance to start her stint as Emmys emcee -- and finished off the openining number by being carried in on the shoulders of tuxedo-clad gents. The only time Lynch came close to losing her cool was after she was beat out by Julie Bowen in the race for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series. "I just want to amend what I said on the red carpet about there not being any winners or losers -- there are losers, and I am one... and it hurts," she deadpanned. "If I didn't have to host the rest of the show, I would be home by now eating a tub of turkey meatballs in the dark."
