It's been a terrific summer, hasn't it? Whether your family took great trips or just used the lazy afternoons to hang out together, we're sure you have plenty of memories -- and pictures -- you want to save. Here's how to do it.
What you'll need:
- Photos taken over the summer
- Flat mementos from summer events (tickets, pressed flowers, etc.)
- Acid-free photo adhesive
- Acid-free pens
- Scrapbooking decorations such as stickers (optional)
What you'll do:
Go through your photos with your children, and choose everyone's favorites -- try to pare down to only one or two of the best from each event. On each spread of the scrapbook, focus on one event or memory. Attach photos and flat mementos to the scrapbook pages with the acid-free adhesive, and have each family member share why he or she really liked that day, or a funny memory of that day, and so on. (Have younger children dictate to you; older kids can write in the book themselves.) Be sure to put each family member's name alongside his or her quote. Decorate the pages with stickers and other scrapbooking add-ons if desired. We're sure you'll have almost as much fun reliving the memories as you did making them, and this book will help keep you warm (on the inside) throughout the long winter.
