Scoop the finished apple butter into jars and either can in a water bath (following safe canning instructions), refrigerate for up to 1 month or freeze (making sure to leave 1 inch of headspace in the jars for the butter to expand) for up to 1 year. Enjoy on toast or biscuits, stirred into oatmeal or Greek yogurt or in savory chicken or pork recipes.
