Another Anniversary Special

This time, the anniversary was Jackson's own—30 years as a solo performer. Two nights of all-star performances at Madison Square Garden in New York City were boiled down into one TV special that CBS aired in November 2001, including appearances and performances by Samuel L. Jackson, Liza Minnelli, Britney Spears, 'N Sync, Usher, Whitney Houston, Destiny's Child, Gladys Knight, Luther Vandross and Missy Elliot. The concert—for which tickets cost as much as $5,000 each for seats that included dinner with Jackson and a signed poster—earned more than $15 million for the star, and is best remembered for the reunion of Jacko and his brothers/Jackson 5 bandmates, who performed a gleeful medley of their greatest hits.
