Paul Newman

After a long battle with cancer, Academy Award winning actor Paul Newman died at the age of 83. According to his publicist, Paul passed away on September 26, at his home in Connecticut, where he was surrounded by friends and family. The screen legend, who starred in classics such as Cool Hand Luke, The Hustler and The Color of Money, also had one of the strongest marriages in Hollywood. He and wife Joanne Woodward married in 1958 and remained solid for the following 50 years. But besides his stellar career and enviable marriage, Paul was a philanthropist, creating his Newman's Own food brand and donating more than $250 million of his profits to charities.
