Why You Should Love Him: For starters, Michael won a whopping eight medals in Athens (six gold and two bronze). At the 2007 World Aquatics Championships, he won seven gold medals and set five world records; all of the individual records he broke were his own except for the 200-meter freestyle, where he blew away Australian Ian Thorpe's former record. Then, in Beijing, Michael won another eight gold medals and set seven world records.
