Hey everyone, I'm Marissa, and this is my Girls Next Door recap blog on TV Cocktail. So, to start, full disclosure: I'm a little obsessed with Holly, Bridget, and Kendra. By now, you're probably familiar with Hef's personal blonde mafia/girlfriend trio and their lifestyle at the Playboy mansion (and if you're not, this is the place to be!). It's like post-modern Mormonism with a Hollywood twist--it fascinates me. And apparently, you too--the show is back by popular demand for a third season. And I'm here to help get you up to date on all the happenings behind the scenes. Because let's face it, are there any closed doors more people would like to peak behind than these? Didn't think so. On to the recap!
Episode 1 was all about Christmas...in March. Hef's three honeys exchanged gifts with the other girls next door (Hef owns a house next to the Manson to board out-of-town bunny-wanna-bes and Playmate-of-the-Year hopefuls, and his three lady friends like to hang with them). But unfortunately for them, Holly, Bridget, and Kendra's holiday offerings were less than stellar--Holly actually doled out bobble head dolls in her own image to many of them. She owns up to the shameless self-promotion, but it's funny to see the looks on the girls faces when they unwrap...that. Hef's gifts to his girlfriends were more up to par...including a pretty pink laptop for Bridget and a (faux) fur coat for Holly. For those who don't know, Holly is arguably the hottest of Hef's three ladies, and she's also considered his "#1 Girlfriend", which means she's been with him the longest and gets to shack up with the mack daddy every night. For the grand finale, the mansion staff sprays faux snow over the yard to create a White Christmas just in time for the arrival of many guests, including Kendra's family up from San Diego. It's always awkward introducing your family to your guy, but Kendra's crew is right at home at the mansion--even grandma, who's about the same age as Hef (um, WEIRD!). But, in all fairness, Hef is still a fox. If you're gonna go for an older man, can you really do any better than him?
