Before she was a Dancing With the Stars favorite, before she was an ESPN sportscaster, Erin Andrews had another ambition: she wanted to hip-hop dance like Britney Spears and N*Sync! If you were watching MTV circa 2001, you may have caught a commercial for choreographer Darrin Henson's instructional video Darrin's Dance Grooves, featuring choreography for N*Sync's "Bye Bye Bye" and Spears' "Crazy" videos.
Now, the ad has resurfaced on YouTube -- and an eagle-eyed viewer noticed that a woman-on-the-street endorsement is from a college-age Erin Andrews. (In video clip, Andrews appears at the 44-second mark.)
In a hoodie and ponytail, the Andrews of the video is quite a contrast to the headline-making dancing sportscaster of 2010! Still, she already knows how to work the camera, delivering the line: "When you're watching this choreography, you just wanna get up and do it with them." The video was most likely shot in 2000, when Andrews was a University of Florida student and a member of the Gators basketball dance team.
The ad may be mildly embarrassing, but we think it will take more than a YouTube clip to break Erin Andrews' stride. The super-competitive TV personality was recently subjected to malicious criticism by The View's Elisabeth Hasselbeck (Andrews tells Us magazine that the daytime host never called her to apologize, despite Hasselbeck's claim during a recent View broadcast that she did). And according to DWTS insiders, Andrews is now determined to win, if only to spite Hasselbeck. If the next dance challenge is "1990's boy band" style, she's got it in the bag!
