Outdoor allergens can be more difficult to control. Aside from moving to the South Pole, it is hard to keep from coming in contact with something that is flying around in the air outside.
Following are four things that can be done to help prevent outdoor allergies:
- Keep your child's bedroom windows closed.
- Take a bath and wash the hair each night.
- If you air dry the clothes and linens, do it inside.
- Try not to use clothes more than once between wearing if the child has played outside in them.
Good control of inside allergens may help avoid the need for allergy medications, though many children with outside allergies will need these medicines to alleviate the miserable symptoms of allergies.
