Expert Answers to Your Picky-Eater Problems

My child won't eat vegetables. How can I sneak them into her diet?
There are many tricks for hiding vegetables in recipes. Shredded or pureed vegetables can be added to spaghetti sauce, muffins or soups. Use your imagination or buy some kid-friendly cookbooks. Another idea: Encourage your child to plant a vegetable garden with you this summer. There is nothing like raising vegetables to get a child interested in eating them. If your child is old enough to start helping out in the kitchen, have her wash or cut up vegetables for a salad (with your supervision, of course). The more she sees vegetables on the table -- and the more she sees the rest of the family eating and enjoying them -- the more she is apt to eventually try them herself.
