chime in nowThe Plot: The film follows the friendship of 25-year-old Will Reiser (Joseph Gordon- Levitt), who is diagnosed with spinal cancer, and the best bud (Seth Rogen) who helps him cope with it. But here's the twist: It's a comedy!
The Buzz: Mining cancer for laughs sounds like a tough proposition, but the film is based on the real-life story of Rogen's pal Reiser (now in remission), who wrote the screenplay, and features Rogen playing a version of himself. So don't be surprised when you see Gordon-Levitt's character dealing with the side effects of chemo one moment and using his cancer to score women the next.
Good for Kids? Only if they're mature way beyond their years: This one's rated R and deals with some weighty -- and raunchy -- stuff.
