Today, come clean with a family car wash! If you're having guests over, tell them to be prepared to get wet -- we're sure that the promise of a clean car will entice them. And if that doesn't do the trick, the promise of a grilled steak dinner afterward surely will.
What you'll need:
- Several large buckets
- Auto shampoo/cleaner
- Large clean, soft sponges
- Hose with spray head
- Clean, soft rags
- Heavy-duty wet/dry vac or handheld vacuum cleaner
- Glass cleaner
- Paper towels
- Leather/vinyl cleaner
- Grilled Flank Steak
- Black Bean and Corn Salsa
- Chocolate Spanish Peanut Cookies
What you'll do:
In the morning, make the salsa and the cookies.
Dress the kids in bathing suits, or shorts and T-shirts that you won't mind getting wet and soapy. Mix the auto shampoo/cleaner with water in the buckets, as directed by the manufacturer. Then hand everyone a sponge and get busy! Wash down the car(s) using the sponges. Rinse with the hose (and go ahead, have a water fight). Dry with the rags, and move on to the "detailing": Vacuum out the car(s) with the heavy duty vac and/or the handheld vac. Finally, clean windows and mirrors with the glass cleaner, and vinyl/leather surfaces with the appropriate product.
After the cars are done, send everyone to dry off and change, and make the grilled flank steak. Relax and enjoy!
