Family? God? Sanity? Women Choose Good Hair Over Just About Everything

Participants in iVillage's first-ever hair survey rated a good stylist as more important than their clergy, boss, therapist or even sibling

America voted, and how women feel about their hair is sparking some controversy. Participants in iVillage’s first-ever hair survey rated a good stylist as more important than their clergy, boss, therapist or even sibling. Surveyed in conjunction with the upcoming “Get Great Hair” Community Challenge, which launches August 6th, these women admitted to crying, lying, and even skipping out on a date over trouble with their tresses.

So how does your own hair attitude measure up to other women’s? If you sometimes have a bad hair day you’re not alone. 98% have them too. But that doesn't mean they’re not judging you for yours! Almost half of participants admit sizing up a woman based on her locks.

And while many women surveyed said they'd give up everything from alcohol to sex in exchange for a great head of hair -- we want to help you get your best tresses ever without the sacrifice. Joining our free 4-week challenge will give you access to daily advice from expert coaches, easy tutorials and fun hairstyle inspiration.
