You know all those precious things you have high up on shelves, out of reach of small hands belonging to very curious youngsters? Today, bring them down off those shelves, and let the kids get a good (but controlled) look at them -- and hear the stories that make those things truly irreplaceable to you.
Set up a specific time in the day for the show-and-tell, and let each kid pick the one or two things that he or she most wants to see. Also ask your children to pick out something of theirs that's very special to them to share as part of the show-and-tell. Share stories of who gave your objects to you, or where you found them, plus what or whom they make you think of and what was going on in your life when you first got them.
