Cabaret is back on Broadway with a new Sally Bowles -- three-time Oscar nominee Michelle Williams!
The Williams-led production will also star Alan Cumming as the M.C., who famously won a Tony for his portrayal of the character in the 1998 revival. Let's look back at other stars who have stepped into Sally's shoes on stage.

Starring in the 1998 Sam Mendes-directed revival, Natasha Richardson gave the performance of a lifetime, which garnered a Tony Award. Sadly, Natasha died following a ski accident in 2009.
Jennifer Jason Leigh
Stepping in after Natasha's run, Jennifer Jason Leigh took over the role of Sally -- but we still can't look at her without thinking about terrified Bridget Fonda in Single White Female.
Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher stepped into Sally's shoes in 1999, in an attempt to put her somewhat iconic role as Lois Lane in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman behind her. She was not well received.
Caroline in the City star Lea Thompson took on the Sally Bowles role for the touring production of Cabaret in 2000.

Cabaret welcomed former Ellen star Joely Fisher to the stage in 2000.
Another former teen star stepped into the racy role. In 2001, Brooke Sheilds sang and danced as Sally.
Gina Gershon also lit up the stage as Sally in 2001, and we're super excited for her upcoming role as Donatella Versace in the Lifetime bio-pic. Seriously, have you seen the pictures?
First redhead Sally Bowles? Favorite '80s teen star (hello, Pretty in Pink forever!) Molly Ringwald took over the role in 2002 to positive notices.
In 2003, actress and teen singing sensation Deborah (Debbie, sorry hon) Gibson took over the role. Deborah has done many stints on the boards, include Belle in Beauty and the Beast.
