Major Works of Art on Toast, No Big Deal (Okay, These are Way Cool!)

Remember that time you made a Rembrandt out of cereal? Didn't think so.

Creating (or recreating) art from food is totally a thing now, as evidenced by celebrity noodle art or fun food art for kids. But Norwegian photographer Ida Frosk has done something we're pretty impressed with -- creating classic paintings with food on toast for her Art Toast Project. These crazy, detailed breakfasts are almost too pretty to eat, and you can find even more ideas in her book, Eat Your Art Out.

Frida Toasto

Frida Kahlo in Toast

Only olives could capture Frida's eyebrows in this recreation of her famed self-portrait.

The Girl with the Yogurt-Covered Nut Earring

Vermeer's Girl with the Pearl Earring

Ida Frosk

Vermeer's classic with a little Swiss cheese, a little yogurt and a crunchy earring.

The Son of Toast

Magritte's Son of Man on Toast

Ida Frosk

Not only is Magritte's painting accurately recreated, it's extra healthy!

Toast Scream

The Scream on Toast

Somehow, rendered in veggies, this Munch painting isn't quite as...intense.
