#9 - Farewell to Cursive

If you want your kids to write letters to Grandma or Nana in script when they get older, you might have to take matters into your own hands. News this year that a growing number of states will no longer require the teaching of cursive writing was met with outrage and cheers. iVillager said, "I really don't like how rapidly the written language is deteriorating... We want technology to do everything for us." But iVoice Beth Engelman said, "I say good riddance cursive, you were never easy to master in the first place." iVillager jndavis2001 agrees -- "I've been teaching school for 23 years. I love cursive handwriting but alas it has reached a time that its usefulness is no longer warranted."  Sorry my kids will still have to learn. Nana and Grandma won't have it any other way.

Find out what the women of The Conversation Thread had to say about whether cursive should stay or go.
