If you happen to be one of those people who think fashion has totally gone to the dogs, well, you might just have a point.
Italian luxury label Trussardi eschewed human models for those of the canine variety — specifically, greyhounds — for its spring 2014 print campaign. And who do you call on to photograph such sexy beasts? Why, Weimaraner lensman extraordinaire William Wegman, of course.
Can we get an arf-arf?
The Daily Mail reports the photographs, featuring the dogs ensconced in sunglasses, handbags, jackets and backpacks, aren’t the first of the fashion variety for Wegman, who has also shot dogs wearing jelly shoes and Panama hats for the Acne line.
“I dedicate this project to the greyhounds of Trussardi,” Wegman said in a statement, according to the newspaper. “Mysteriously calm, wonderfully photogenic, and, most of all, incredibly elegant.”
The Daily Mail points out there may be a dog trend about to be — er — unleashed, as the blog Menswear Dog is seeing a surge in popularity, as well.
We’re going to go ahead and give the idea a sweet pat on the head for cuteness, but we doubt the Gisele Bündchens of the world need to fret — that would simply be — you know — barking up the wrong tree.
