The female condom is a thin plastic sleeve that is inserted into the vagina for protection from sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and pregnancy during sexual intercourse.
Part of the condom remains outside of the vagina. The male partner inserts his penis into the open end of the female condom during sex.
