TV Characters We Wish Could Be on 'Dancing With the Stars'

The new cast list is out, but isn't it time we think outside the box when it comes to contestants?

With the  latest cast of Dancing With The Stars being announced this week, we can all begin eagerly anticipating the new season and look foward to watching Drew Carey do a fox trot.

Which might look something like this?

During its 18 seasons, Dancing With The Stars has featured celebrities from every corner of the entertainment and sports industries, but so far they've completely neglected what we feel is a very important category: Fictional characters from TV shows.

Think about how many of your favorite characters you'd love to see breaking it down every week and ask yourself, why has no one thought of this yet?

Well stop wondering, because we thought of it, and it's even better than you could have hoped.

Check out who made the cut and who you can (pretend to) look forward to seeing next season.

1. Carlton Banks, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

We could all use a little more Carlton in our lives, both the character and the dance, so knowing where to find him boogying down once a week would be great. Plus look at those moves, he may even have a shot at the trophy.

2. Elaine Benes, Seinfeld

Speaking of the trophy, here's Elaine. Would she be kicked off the very first episode? Yes. Would we love to watch it happen? Yes.

3. Ron Swanson, Parks & Recreation

You'd have to serve him a high volume of Snake Juice and Moonshine in order to get him to agree to dance in the first place, but once Ron got going there'd be no stopping this maniac.

4. Olivia Pope, Scandal

She'd have a lot of rules, and she'd constantly be on her cell phone, but we're guessing the technical aspects of her routines would be flawless. FLAWLESS.

5. Dexter Morgan, Dexter

Actually nevermind, he'd just creep everybody out. Go back to the woods or beach or warehouse or wherever it is you started hanging out after everybody stopped watching in Season 5.

6. Nicholas Brody, Homeland

What side is he dancing for? Where do his jitterbug loyalties lie? Would he have to bring Claire Danes with him? Do we even want him on our side? So many questions. Let's just ask Saul instead.

7. Jess Day, New Girl

Pros: This dance move you see right before you.

Cons: This dance move you see right before you.

Let's invite her. You know you're guarenteed at least one clumsy accident resulting in hilarity.

8. Ned Stark, Game of Thrones

Well don't lose your head over it Ned, it's just a little dancing.

9. Jesse Pinkman, Breaking Bad

Yeah, bitch! Jesse Pinkman would surely be the underdog of the competition, but his naivete and earnestness and self-sabotaging would also surely make him a fan favorite.

10. Phoebe, Friends

There would be a lot of "pros" for this casting decision, but the most important? She'd provide her own music.

HONORABLE MENTION: Rob Ford, Canada

What's that? Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is not a fictional sitcom character?

Mmmm....no we're pretty sure he is.
