With rumors swirling that Fifty Shades of Grey is being turned into a major motion picture, the best-selling erotic romance novel is gaining tons of attention. So much so, that it made it's way into a hilarious Saturday Night Live sketch this weekend.
In the May 5 episode hosted by New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, the monologue was followed by a hilarious fake commercial for Amazon. Made in the same style as Amazon's other television spots, the ad shows several moms who'd rather be left alone (wink, wink) with their copies of the steamy Fifty Shades of Grey than presented with a Mother's Day Present.
In the first snippet, Jason Sudeikis plays a father who's preparing a surprise breakfast for his wife with his two children. But when they walk into the bedroom, they find Kristen Wiig in bed with a copy of the steamy book in one hand -- and the other hand conspicuously under the comforter.
"What are you doing? Get out," she yells, while the clueless kids shout "Happy Mother's Day!" Meanwhile the dad asks: "Isn't that that sex book?" as the young daughter picks up a Hitachi Magic Wand and innocently pretends it's a microphone.
Next, Vanessa Bayer plays a mom who's equally as surprised while in the bubble bath -- again with her paperback of Fifty Shades of Grey on the tub's edge. When the husband asks what she's reading, she says -- "It's a cookbook." You get the idea: Moms can't get enough of Fifty Shades of Grey!
