With the unofficial end of summer approaching this weekend, it’s never too early to look forward to next summer’s blockbuster movies.
On the top of the list for 2010 is Sex and the City 2, the sequel to the 2008 box office smash.
Unfortunately, the release date is nearly nine months away with the movie scheduled to hit theaters on May 28, 2010.
Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) are all back along with Mr. Big (Chris Noth).
Parker and Noth were spotted this week filming in New York’s Upper East Side. The last time we saw Carrie and Mr. Big together, the happy couple had just married at New York’s City Hall.
We still don’t know for sure the plot for Sex and the City 2. It has been kept a secret but rumors are already running wild that there might be trouble in paradise for Carrie and Big as she was spotted in a scene without her wedding ring.
Not to look too far ahead since the second movie is still nine months away, but I would love to see a prequel for the third installment in the series.
We were first introduced to four thirty-something women when the series made its debut on HBO in 1998.
But what were things like when the women were in their 20s?
The idea of having four actresses play a younger version of the ladies might be a tough sell for hardcore SATC fans.
If director Michael Patrick King could develop a script that focused on the early years and advanced the plot after the second film, I think it would keep the true fans happy and maybe generate the buzz it would need for a third film.
Would you be interested watching a Sex and the City prequel?
