It's official: Ashton Kutcher pulls off a pretty great Steve Jobs.
The first image of Kutcher as the Apple cofounder in jOBS has hit the web, and it proves that the Two and a Half Men star can be a dead-ringer for a young Jobs with the right hair and clothing. Of course, we still see a tease of Kutcher's good looks peeking out from under that old-fashioned 'do, but there's plenty in the first official still from the movie to be excited about. (This photo is based on one of Jobs from the early '80s -- click here to see it!)
Ever since the jOBS casting was first announced, many have come to accept that Kutcher is a great pick to play the late tech icon. Jobs passed away in October 2011, and film studios were quick to snap up the rights to bring his story to the big screen. The real question is whether Kutcher will be able to appropriately act like Jobs, and that has yet to be seen as a trailer for jOBS has not been released yet.
jOBS began filming in May and will serve as the Sundance Film Festival's closing night movie in 2013. According to the plot synopsis for the movie, jOBS "tells an intensely character-driven story that is as much a sweeping epic as it is a personal tale. An ultimately inspiring story, jOBS pulls no punches and does not speculate, only telling the truthful real life events as seen through his eyes, emotions, and ingenuity."
Swing Vote's Joshua Michael Stern directs the movie and it also stars Josh Gad, Dermot Mulroney and Lukas Haas. No release date has been set for the film.
