For those of you wondering if Jennifer Aniston ever pines for Brad Pitt, a friend has stepped up to say that the 40-year-old star is really and truly over him. “Brad is so far in her past. She has 100 percent moved on,” the friend tells People magazine for its cover story hitting newsstands this week.
Five years after the actress’s painfully public split with Pitt, another source confirms it’s true: “Jen never mentions Brad.”
And Aniston’s apparently not waiting around for Mr. Right to turn up. In fact, she’s reveling in just being single. “She is happy,” says another friend. “The whole ‘I need a man’ thing is not her.” In the past year, she’s stepped out with Bradley Cooper, and flirted on and off the set with Bounty Hunter costar Gerard Hunter. That said, Team Aniston claims, she’s not yearning for anything serious.
However, friends admit there's one ex who isn’t completely out of the picture – and that's John Mayer. While Aniston and the musician officially broke up last March, they still keep in touch. “I wouldn’t say the John thing is totally over,” reveals a friend. “But she’s certainly not planning on marrying the guy.” And as we know from Mayer’s recent musings in Rolling Stone, he’s certainly not over her yet either.
According to People, Aniston "dates to have fun. She chose John Mayer because he’s fun.”
And a reality check for all of us is that even somebody as physically blessed as Aniston has to work at maintaining her beauty. She commits herself to a steady routine of jogging, intensive yoga at least four times a week, and spa treatments on demand. “She works on being beautiful and has no qualms about it,” her pal tells People. “She considers staying thin and beautiful a job requirement.”
This year, look for some fun revelations from Aniston. She’s getting ready to film Goree Girls, about a band in a women’s prison, and apparently she’s been taking singing lessons for the role. She is “eager to surprise her audience,” says a source.
Once half of Hollywood’s Golden Couple, "Brad & Jen," Aniston is perfectly happy, say friends, to shine on her own. “Even though Jen’s dating life hasn’t been perfect, she’s not a bitter person who looks back with regrets,” a source tells People. “Jen is excited about the new year,” another friend offers, “and curious to see what this year will bring.”
