The Problem
Can you give me some quick tips on doing my beauty regimen and makeup routine in the morning? I only have five minutes to beautify before I get my son off to daycare. Is that enough time? How can I do my makeup quickly without skipping the important steps? And, what are those steps?!

The Fix
If you're in a hurry don't worry.

First thing you can do to keep the time down is use a tinted moisturizer rather than a full-coverage foundation. With foundation to get a flawless finish you ideally need to apply it with a brush and/or sponge. This can take time, so by using a tinted moisturizer, it can be applied quickly using clean hands. It doesn't matter so much about covering fully with tinted moisturizer as it isn't a thick consistency, blends well, is great on the go.

Then, take a cream blush and apply to the apple of the cheeks with your ring finger. Softly blend until you're happy with its intensity.

Take a soft black eye liner pencil and apply to your lower lash line gently. You don't have to be thorough with this step making it a must for a quick look to do the trick. Smudge it in with your finger or cotton swab for a great effortless effect.

Finish the eyes with a coat of black mascara. You can wait for this coat to dry whilst popping your lippy on, then come back to the lashes for a quick second coat to really give them some oomph!

Apply your favorite lippy (preferably a neutral color to keep the time down). With red or full color lipsticks, a little preparation needs to take place.

I promise this will take five minutes or less and you will look like you've at least doubled the timing on this subtle everyday look.

The Follow-Up
We caught up with ivillage_iris to see how her morning routine has changed since employing Lauren Luke's tips.

She told us that the tinted moisturizer helped cut a lot of time from her beauty routine. Plus, "it's so easy to apply," she says. "Sometimes, that and lip gloss are all I need." ivillage_iris skips the eye makeup from time to time to beautify in three minutes!
