Am I too old?

A few weeks go I was cleaning out my closet and came across a black leather mini skirt I had bought back in college. I was going to get rid of it but my husband talked me into keeping it, I probably hadn't worn it in 15 years. Well we were going out New Years Eve to a bar with some friends and he talked me into wearing it. I wore it with my black leather jacket, a red turtleneck, and my black knee high boots. It was a bit snug, thank God for control tops, but not uncomfortable so to make him happy I was ready to go.

Hi Jillybean and welcome!

I don't see any problem with your wardrobe selection.

Jillybean, let me start out by saying your outfit sounds like it was adorable and if ou go to the type of bar with a band and a dancefloor very appropriate. If you can still get into a skirt you bought back in college and you are 40 with 3 kids then by all means wear it! We all reach a point were the control tops are a mandatory part of the

Hi Jilly,

I think its great that you wore that mini skirt. You are never to old. If you have the legs, show them honey! You should have told your mother in law it was not her place to judge you. I am 39 and have 2 young daughters, 2 and 8 months. I wear short skirts.

My mother is older and still wears skirts above her knees. She looks great.
