I have an extensive wardrobe - vintage and non-vintage alike and lots of accessories. I'm a working girl with a great career but would love to have a bit of that great eclectic Carrie Bradshaw look. I can't see to nail it down though! Any help or advice here? Thanks!

Maybe the problem isn't that you can't pull it together so much as what works for the character of Carrie Bradshaw doesn't work for you.

Hi. I don't post here, but if you want my 2 cents --

Carrie is chill, nonchalant -- you'd never find her in an office, and, consequently, classic, streamlined outfits are not for her. She's bony; she's always showing leg or collarbone. She can carry off any piece that would look ridiculous on anyone with even an ouce less obvious confidence and charisma. I think there are two keys to her look. The first is that she always has just one bright, unique piece, whether it's an unbelievably large flower pin or that bunny-tail skirt thing or an awesome purse. This is not randomly chosen. The color always goes well and it never competes with anything else. The second key is that she wears layers that seem to envelop her bony frame loosely. something is always unbuttoned, something else is always peeking out. The way she dresses is not office-classy, like Miranda, classically tasteful, like Charlotte, or gaudily provocative, like Samantha. She can do that one-of-the-guys thing because she looks like she just grabbed that amazing designer jacket on her way out the door and casually pushed those funky sunglasses into her hair. So -- no one's Carrie but Carrie. Good luck finding your best look.
