Easter in the North?

Hi to all, a lurker here who is traveling to the North from Florida for Easter weekend. I am a native Floridian, so I have spent 31 yrs in sundresses and sandals for Easter. What DO you wear in the North? All my cool weather clothes are too dark for Easter in my opinion.

My children will be with me: for DS, 6, I have a light blue button down with navy slack and a complimentary sweater vest; for DD, almost 2, I have a navy blue romper with yellow daisies, matching undershirt, tights. I was thinking of a bright pink sweater with my cream slacks and navy shoes, navy/pink/cream scarf? Other ideas? I also have a pair of platnium/silver grey slacks that I am trying to pair with something for the trip. DH suggested pastel tops, but that looks too washed out to me. I was thinking of a bright teal, pink or maroon. And shoes are another issue all together.

TIA for any help!

Thanks for asking...For the first couple days of the trip, the highs were about 60 deg, but warmed up to mid-70s by Thurs, when we went home.

I am such a Florida wimp though, I were jeans in the 70s here and only bring out capris, skirts or shorts if it's 80 deg or warmer. Before long we will be into the sweltering 100 deg days...ugh...Where is it 70-80 deg year-round? (Without the hurricanes also, please?!)

So how was it? Ottawa was at around 52 at Easter time, but I'm sure Dayton was warmer!

Thanks for the reply. I just wanted confirmation that the rich colors wouldn't be too inappropriate for Easter. (Of course, freezing our rumps off is not an option either!) We are traveling to Dayton Ohio. And, as a "just in case", I have already purchased gloves & mittens for the kiddos.

It's all too strange for me: it's currently 79 deg here in Florida!

How far north are you going? I know in Minnesota we can and have had snow on Easter Sunday. Everything sounds good, colors are always good, especially the jewel tones, for those of us that get washed out looking from pastels. Bring shoes for both warm and cool to cold weather, Easter is really early this year.
