The eternal and capris

Okay, so living in the midwest has its challenges. What do you all wear on your feet with denim or khaki capris or cropped pants? This is the eternal struggle for me. I simply am not a tennis shoe person, don't own a pair of Keds and don't want to. I am not a heel person. I generally would wear casual tops, either short sleeve knit, casual cotton blouse (in or out, depending), 3/4 sleeve knit. Instead of full-length jeans in the spring (not there we are actually having spring these days) I often throw on capri or cropped pants. Each day I stand in front of the mirror trying on upteen shoes. Should it be Dansko clogs? Should it be sport sandals (TEVA and Chaco's are in my closet), how about KEEN sport sandal/shoes? Or, maybe it should be a wedge-heeled Born sandal? I am always at such a loss. I should mention that I am 38 and the mom of teens. So, I can't do anything outrageous or foolish ( wouldn't want to look like I borrowed my 13 year old daughter's shoes). I just need to know what is sensible, casual and cute with capri pants. I am not fancy, just a normal mom heading off to grocery shop, go for coffee, go to the mall. Am I the only one who just wants to look decent but not dressed up?

Well with crops pants I usually either wear flipflops or a small kitten heel. I also have chinese slippers that I will wear.

Embellished flip flops :). I have a black pair with white and black leather flowers on the top, and they look so cute with capris. and so do my beaded leather flip flops with a low heel. Or just my old navy flip flops if I'm feeling casual!

I would say wear "nice" flip-flops--the kind that aren't plastic (unless you're being really casual). If your capris are slim-fitting, clogs may be too clunky, but mules/slides or other slip-on shoes look nice with capris.
My advice is to shop for shoes while wearing the pants you want to wear the shoes with.

I think that low heeled sandals go best with capri pants. But I don't like to wear thong sandals with capri pants, unless I am going to the beach. I have seen other women pairing slides and capri pants, which makes for a nice look that I think I'll try:)

you should check out Think! sandals. they're cute and casual with a low heal, and they're also extremely comfortable. I think their styles would go extremely well with capris or cut offs... the shoes are a little expensive, but i believe worth every penny. btw, they sell them either on or nordstroms. im sure other retailers have them as well.
