Hi Everyone,

Tis the season for holiday parties - work, family and friend get togethers. Do you look forward to dressing up during the holidays and if so, what do you like to wear to these type of events?

I am 23 and have quite a few work parties coming up this month. Just curious what some of my sisters (and guys) feel might be appropriate to wear to these events. All of the events will be held at really nice venues, some with vendors or clients and our company party as well. Should I wear a red or black skirt suit, a dress with sequins, sweater dress or leather skirt with maybe an angora sweater?

You have a lot of great options. I think I'd go with a dress considering the venues and the fact that you'll be meeting with clients, etc. Do you have a specific dress in mind? If not, check out this slideshow. It has several great dresses that may give you a few ideas on what to wear. I love several of them! Hi Kristy, I am definitely leaning towards a dress for the events. Since I have several to attend, I am considering my silver sequin dress and a royal blue version I have as well. I saw a really cute red cocktail dress which I may purchase for my office event :) As if the holidays weren't already expensive...

Hi girlfriendc, the leather skirt and sweater will definitely make an appearance to one of my friend parties or maybe a smaller vendor event :) A girl has to have a little fun ;)

I know it's too late, but there's always next year! I think it's fine to wear something that highlights your assets and makes you look attractive, without looking like you are trying to get laid at a college party. With clients or vendors there, you have to make sure professionalism is the top priority, and I think that can be accomplished and still look sexy or hot. How did it end up going?

Hi Ray, thank you for your post! The vendor and client events were fabulous and my outfits were fun and flirty. It's always interesting how things will develop when alcohol is consumed. The vendor and client events were great and only a few gentlemen tried to get a little too friendly as their intoxication increased. I saved my new sequined red dress for our company party and received numerous compliments from my coworkers and executives. Overall, the holiday parties were great and my holiday season was fabulous.

Too little too late here, I'm afraid, lol.  However, I think all of your options are GREAT.  My wife wore a sequin dress to a formal (black tie) holiday event, and so having seen her, I know you can't go wrong with sequins!  I also remember she wore a leather skirt with a top a neighborhood Christmas party and that was a really fun outfit.  So, I hope you did that as well!  Christmas is so fun because there are so many occasions to dress up.  Oh, and we had our annual company holiday party last Saturday (we always do it in January, lol), she wore black pants, a nice gold top and booties with a 4" heel.

Hi Matt, thank you for your response! I agree, sequins are great and fun for dressy events :) Yes, I did wear a leather skirt and sweater to my neighborhood party. I also wore boots as it was a chilly night plus they are really cute. Holiday dressing is definitely fun :)
