and I have no idea what to wear. It is my bf's cousins funeral. At my mothers funeral I wore khakis and a sleeveless vest type thing. (it was hot).

The funeral is in Memphis, don't know what the temp will be, but my main thing is...I have a pair of black stretchy pants. Just don't know what color of shirt I should wear or what type of shirt to wear. I am a big girl btw.

TIA

Well, the old saying that one has to wear black to funerals isn't true anymore but wearing darker more subdued colors would be appropriate.

It is still more respectful to wear darker colors to funerals. My mother

I never intended to wear anything flashy or bright, just wasn't sure on what color to wear though with the black pants. Plus, I'm not exactly sure what the weather will be like there. I live in Iowa where it's freekin cold right now. Sure it's alot warmer down there.

Thanks ladies!!

I hope it's warmer there than in Iowa, and I know it's cold in Iowa!

I'd go with a beige or charcoal top, maybe short or 3/4 sleeves, or you could do a shell, with a blazer over it, just in case it's cool. I don't think either of us meant to give the impression we thought you would wear bright red, mostly what we meant is softer colors are better than jewel tones in this instance. We really didn't mean to offend you.
