A friend and I (both 27) no longer know what is age appropriate to wear. How do woman in their late 20's dress? What is too young and what is too old?

Personally, I am 31, and wear whatever I want. I am not into wearing cartoons or other caracters on my clothes, or those layered ruffle skirts. But I do wear low rise jeans, tank tops, short skirts as well as track suits. As long as it looks good on you, I don't think it matters. You obviously don't want to wear things that will have people mistake you for a 16 year old, but also don't want to wear things that make you look 40. I wear pretty trendy things, and have never had any problems with it.

I have to agree with wearing what you feel comfortable in. The only thing I have to add is belly shirts should be on you no list.

I'm 27 and am increasingly finding a problem of appropriate clothing to wear. I avoid belly shirts like the plague. In general, cheap clothing makes me look older rather than younger. I try to skip trends unless I can pull it off.

I wear flattering low rise jeans but keep them simple. I would say that tshirts with cute sayings are a no-no. Also, trendy makeup. Go easy on the makeup.

Basically I wear classic styles and keep my shoes, jewelry and bag trendy.

If you are comfortable with how you look in the styles you wear don't worry about trends. Classic styles are always IN style, and appropriate for any age.

I go by instinct. I, being around the same age, wear what I like and what makes me most comfortable. I shop mostly in the the junior section because the clothes in the women's is usually too big for me. I'm not going to suggest that really short miniskirts are too young looking for you or that a pantsuit is too old. It all depends on what your style is and only you can determine that. Everyone has their opinions but you have the money and hold on how you spend your money, so everyone's opinion doesn't really matter, does it?

Hi There! I'm 25 and I wear whatever I feel comfortable in. I agree with what others have said about belly shirts, shirts with phrases or cartoons on it is a big no no. I like basics because it will never go out of style and it's just easier to wear it. I love accessories like belts, jewllery, sunglasses, shoes, bags, etc... I usually wear a nice pair of low rise jeans with a sexy (not skanky) top, nice shoes, nice purse... I like blacks, whites, greens, pinks (not too pink...soft light pink). I think that if it looks good on you there is no reason you shouldn't wear it. Just make sure you're sending out the right message.

You're at a good age because you can go either way with a classic look or trendy look but the t-shirts with sayings aren't your age. Like it was previously mentioned, it all depends on what you feel most comfortable. During the work week, you might wear the classic business attire and on the weekends, let your hair down and wear some trendy outfits for the night clubs or weekend scene. I hope this helps!

Hey, I don't really see what the big deal about wearing message tee's in you late 20's? Who decided that after a certain age, you are too old to wear this or that? And why is it such a big deal if they make you look younger? Millions of women are spending millions of dollars to look younger each day? I personally love message tees. I'm 26 and could care less if they make me look 16 but I wear them with the right situation, like grocery shopping or going to a movie with a friend. I have one that says, "I Survived Catholic School" (so very true!) and "Brunettes Do It Better", maybe b/c it's cheeky and matches my sense of humor. And I even have one with JEM on the front; I bought it at Hot Topic (b/c I loved JEM as a kid). I agree with belly shirts b/c they always seemed silly to me. I've always looked young for my age. When I was 18 everyone thought I was 14. I can't change this. When I'm 50 and everyone my age looks 50 or older, I'll be glad I still look 40. So hah! There's no limitation on what you can or can't wear. Why is everyone so judgemental? I feel clothing should be fun; it should be reflective of your personality. And not, something comes with a label (i.e. if you wear this, you'll look like this, ect.).
