i'm 20; where do i shop?!

today i went looking for a new pair of jeans for the first time in almost two years. (i've gained a healthy 10 pounds since my 125-pound high school days. next month i turn 20 years old.) I CANNOT FIND JEANS... A list of reasons:

In Juniors I felt like I was back in Middle school! When did everything get so tiny?? Especially JEANS!! Plus why can't I find a normal jeans color in this section? If I want mud colored jeans I can always go run through some mud, right?

In Misses I felt like my mom's TWIN (she was with me today)... what's with the extra "pouch space" on misses jeans?? I thought they might fit if i shoved a pillow in there. I had to check twice to make sure I didn't accidentally grab them from Maternity! Plus.. how many jeans can these Misses ladies buy?!? There was hardly anything left on the shelves.

THE BIGGEST PROBLEM that I have, and basically have had my whole life - is that IT SEEMS LIKE JEANS ARE MADE FOR TINY BUTTS, SKINNY LEGS, AND BIG FAT BELLIES? I have big thighs, a hefty rear and a flat tummy (hey, i'm only 20!).
Where do i GO???

Welcome Spark.

Have you tried stores like Old Navy, Banana Republic and The Gap?

Thanks for replying.
I'll try those three stores. I know they are all the same company so if the jeans fit at one of those three I'm sure they'll fit at the other two.
Let me tell you, I tried on Levi Jeans and those were the worst on me. They may work for you. We all have such different bodies, but beautiful ones.
Another place for cheap jeans that should fit your body type would be Target. they have great prices and styles but often the jeans are much bigger in the waist then the legs.
Thanks again!

Ok, I am the exact same way. Have you went to the mall and tried NY and Company? They tend to have pants decent enough for use with small waists. Another good one is seven jeans, but they are expensive!! Also, you want to look for a pants that have a boot cut and a dark color(ideally with a light center) because they will help balance the look of your thighs.

Did you see this on Oprah the other day? LOL That is almost exactly what they said.
Anyway, I really like Gap jeans. Another favoirite are Ralph Lauren, specifically the Kelley Jean.

OF COURSE!!! But I am also a huge fan of the BBC show "what not to wear".

Also, I was raised by an image consultant so it is in my blood. To this day, we still watch style shows and HGTV shows together via phone because I live in another state!

Thanks everyone! I now have a list of shops to check out. NY and Co. has great prices. I forgot about that store. I'm definitely going to check that out. Gap is a little expensive but I'll try it.
Just in case anyone else is interested, there's a store called Kohl's that has the best prices I've ever seen in a dept. store for jeans, and a pretty big selection for BOTH juniors and misses sizes.

Target.com also does specialty jeans. For fairly inexpensive. You enter in your measurments and down to what kind of fly you want, you get your pair of jeans!

I would recommend also NY&Co in the mall. They have excellent style in all clothing; everything is very sophistocated but trendy. Their jeans are great and not too expensive, around $40 and they go on sale often.

Personally I'm a Gap and Old Navy girl. Gap can be expensive but they run awesome sales. I really like Gap and Old Navy because their jeans come in Short sizes and I'm well..short. Gap also has a new line where you can get their jeans for all different body types

I'm 20 too and have hit the awkward don't want to look 13(ok so no matter how I dress I get mistaken for 13 but I don't want to encourage that) but don't want to dress like my mom.
