Navy slacks and boots

If one doesn't own a pair of navy boots , what color boots go with navy? I own a pair of black and brown, and now that it is getting cooler in the deep south, I often wear boots to work. Are black or brown boots appropriate? I'd love to start wearing my navy suits and slacks again.

I think either would be fine with navy, as long as the same color is found elsewhere in your outfit. Ex. black boots, navy pants, black top or bag, etc.

I'd definetely wear black but you can shop online at and if you don't like them you can return for free shipping. Actually the shipping to you is free too. And they show you very good examples of their shoes/boots/whatever from every angle and the colors are pretty good too. I don't work for them in any way.

I've run into the same problem. I have a great navy blue pant suit that I like to wear. The length of the pants are long so I always wear my 3.5" stiletto poiny-toed black leather boots with them....I would not recommend brown because you want your shoe to be darker that your pants.

I agree, it's hard to match shades of navy, and harder to find boots in navy. I'd go with the black boots if I were you. I cant' see brown and navy together, for me they clash badly.
