Shoes for thin (not narrow) feet?

I've been having an awful time finding sandals that fit. I'm a size 6 medium width, but my foot is thin from top to bottom and often I can't adjust the shoe enough to hold my foot in place. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

No suggestions but I can commiserate. I'm also having trouble finding sandals that fit this year for the same reason. They mostly seem to be made for people with a really high instep or fat feet. I thought my feet were pretty average, 7.5 medium width, but most of the sandals either fall off my feet or my flop around on it. This didn't used to be a problem until the last couple of years.

If you're looking for casual flip flops, try Reef brand. The straps on those fit me great and the ones like thick grosgrain ribbon don't chafe. They sell them at Macy's in the hanging sandals, they also have them at surf or swimwear shops if you have any of those nearby.

I have the same problem, and it's getting worse the last couple of years too.  However, I know what's causing it for me:  middle age!  My hands and feet are losing padding and getting bonier.  I can no longer wear heels because it is much too painful on the ball of my foot.  My skinny feet slide around in the shoes that fit fine two years ago.  It's particulary annoying in summer shoes and sandals, as I can't wear anything inside to fill out the shoe.

I wear J Crew's Cece flats a lot, because they have an elastic edge that helps them stay on and a rubber sole so my poor bony feet get some padding between them and the ground.

Today I found some sandals that fit well over the top of my foot at Target! They are reasonably cute, not real leather but fairly inexpensive.
