Hi Everyone,

I am 45yrs and going on a first date (in about 7years) , which is in a couple days and dont know what to wear. I'm at a complete loss ! It is a luncheon date. Will be going from work .... I dress very corporate for work ( think skirt suits or pant suits ) and I'm not sure if that would be appropriate....

Please help ladies.....

Thanks and Happy Holidays to all.

Oh wow-congrats! Personally, I would throw a cute sweater and livelier shoes in a bag and change after work. Add some accessories like a little bigger earrings than what you'd wear to the office and a fun necklace. Maybe you could carry a  more casual handbag that day and take some items with you.

How did you meet him? Does he work with you?

Thank you for your reply. We met at a biz event and thankfully we dont work together. 'Cause I think nothing but trouble comes from romace at the work place, then again it's just my opinion which could be wrong. Thanka again and happy holidays. Kiritina.

Congrats on your upcoming date. I agree on the tossing a few items in a bag to slightly alter your work attire. Another quick change is with your hair. Do you normally wear it up at work? Take it down for your date and that should help you get out of work mode and into relaxed mode. Also don't forget to transition your mind from work to your date. Maybe call a friend to chat about something funny beforehand? The distraction will help you get into fun mode.

"I am 45yrs and going on a first date (in about 7years) , which is in a couple days" lol Depends on where you're going, have you asked him? If you are both professional and met in a professional setting dress professionally.

If you are going to lunch from work I think he's expecting you to be in work attire. You can dress it up or down for lunch, but if you are going back to work you probably aren't going to want to change twice. Let us know how it goes, and what you decide to wear.
