My husband and I are going to six flags this weekend and I'm always stumped about what to wear to a theme park. (this is elementary school knowledge too, I know!) So, do you wear a swim suit under your clothes? shorts and t-shirt or tank top? tennis shoes and socks or flip flops???

just wear casual clothes, something that u can move well in. a swimsuit is not necessary since you can dry off during the day and anyway... you dont get THAT wet on rides. dont wear flip flops either since you're gonna walk a lot...

Well, for me, I usually skip denim...if you do get wet it takes absolutely forever to dry. I also don't do the tennis shoe and sock thing, they don't dry well either. On the other hand, flip flops are out, they can fly off on roller coasters. I usually would wear a lightweight knit top, twill (such as khaki's) shorts and a sport sandal, such as TEVA, that can get wet but has straps that close around the back heel. Usually a sport sandal has great support and cushiony soles that are made for physical activity and are great for walking in an amusement park all day.

Six Flags sounds like fun! I go every year, and I usually just try to dress comfortably. I've worn tennis shoes and socks before, and I've worn the "Teva" type strappy sandals. I actually prefer tennis shoes and good support footie-socks, because I when I did wear sandals, I worried about my feet getting stepped on in the long lines. I definitely wouldn't wear flip flops - I had a friend that did, and she had to ride all the rides bare-foot to keep from losing a shoe -- it was a big hassle.

For clothing, it depends on what you are comfortable in. I personally don't like to wear tank tops, so I usually just wear a plain V-neck t-shirt and shorts or capri pants. Don't wear jeans because if they do get wet, you'll stay wet all day.

Not trying to get too personal, but I think your bra and panties should be carefully planned too. Don't wear cotton or you will stay wet (like the jeans) all day. Wear something thin and breathable because the water rides usually already have the seats wet as soon as you get on them.

Good luck and have fun!!!

Thank you everyone for the responses!!! I don't have any sandals really, so maybe I will just stick with the flip-flops (I don't like roller-coasters anyway. This is DH's trip mostly. :-) ) some khaki shorts and a tank top. I think I am going to wear my bikini underneath though because I don't want to have a wet butt all day. LOL Thanks again for the ideas!!!
