College Intern DESPERATELY needs a MAKEO

*sigh*

Make me over!

I'm a newly-transported-to-the-city small town girl who happens to know NOTHING about beauty, hair, makeup..high heels (OMG, the pain!). I grew up in small-town rural Arizona, working in my parents' homey grocery store and never picked up the tricks that made a lady a "lady."

Now, I'm a college student (I'm 21) interning in Cleveland at a mortgage bank and my job requires that I appear professional. I try... but I feel like a girl playing dress-up (and verrry badly) when I come into work in my messy, rubberband bun and proceed to stomp around with my blistered feet in shoes I have no idea how to walk in.

I've read your magazine for years and have always been happy with your programs and recommendations (the workout plans cant be beat!), but never really needed teh beauty advice until now. And boy do I need it. Please help! I can tell you more, send pictures -- I'll do anything! But please make me over, my future depends on it! =/

First of all you dont need to wear high heels to look professional. Get some dressy flats(lots of great sales right now, try dillards or kaufmanns) they will look nice and you wont have to limp around the office. Also, the next time you go to your stylist tell her/him that you are not really into doing your hair and have them suggest a low maintenance style. As for makeup if you choose to wear it, go basic; mascara, blush, lip gloss. Well, from a girl who worked at a mortgage company in cleveland myself, i hope this helps.
