What are You Reading?

This month I'm reading You're Big Break by Joanna Edwards. Its about a woman named Dani, who works for a compy that breaks up for your ex for you. I've read it before, so I felt like reading it again. Its pretty good. Its worth reading at least once, I think, but that's just me.

So what are you reading these days?

Would you recommend it to others?

I'm currently reading Prison Madness. It's all about how people with mental health issues suffer in prison because there are nearly no resources for them and also about prisoners who develop mental health issues because of the harsh living conditions. It's a heavy read, but I'm enjoying it. Its on the suggested reading list for one of my classes and I'm trying harder to read those books because of the background info they will provide me. In undergrad I couldn't be bothered to read any of the suggested books, but I probably would have benefited from doing so. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in social work, human services, mental health, law, or criminal justice. For everyone else it probably wouldn't be too appealing.

That's a pretty heavy book. I know it wouldn't be my first pic. But if it was for a class, I guess I would.

I find I don't have a go to genre or author. It really just depends on what catches my interest or fits my mood at the time. Before this book for class I was reading chicklit, probably to give my mind a break before all the heavy reading. Not sure what I'll pick up for pleasure reading next. Hmmm....

Mary Kay Andrews is a wonderful writer/author. Her books are funny and just a good beach/summer read. I love her!!!
